Not snakes, scorpions, or blistering hot temperatures could prevent the 2008 Doinker Dealer Hunt Giveaway from being a gainful success.  After four days of hard hunting and a wealth of fun and excitement, the 2008 Doinker Dealer hunt concluded on June 9, 2008.  The five hunters who participated in this year’s hunt traveled thousands of miles and logged many hours in steamy Texas ground blinds for a hunt that didn’t necessarily render a lot of shot opportunities or sightings, but was well worth the effort. 

Lawrence Huot of Trophy Book Archery in Alberta, Canada was chosen, at random as the 2008 hunt winner and after months of anticipation, planning and preparation, he and his guest of choice, Kal Wilson hunted at the famous 5J Hunting Ranch with Doinker representatives; Bill Leven, Erick Hall and Timothy Kent.  For four days the five hunters enjoyed a camp together while in hot pursuit of hogs and exotics.  With temperatures hovering near or above the centennial mark, the hunt wasn’t without its challenges. However, the make up of this hunt was more than just the pursuit of game.  Each day the group collectively shared camp the enjoyed product secrets, hunting stories, fantastic southern cooking and banked many lifetime of memories.  Doinker representatives also wisely used this time to obtain input from the winners on their product choices, opinions, and what catches their eye within the industry. 

“This was more than just a hunt.  This was an opportunity for us to get out there with some guys who are using and excited about our products and show them how we appreciate them and their efforts to keep us as the ‘World’s Number One Stabilizer.  Whether or not we harvested animals or not didn’t matter.  We just wanted to get out, rub elbows with Lawrence and Kal, show them a good time and a bunch of kills isn’t always the measure of a hunt’s success.” stated Doinker, Owner and President, Bill Leven

Although opportunities at hogs were limited, Doinker’s guests were able to connect of a couple of fine Texas exotics in the 11th hour during the last few minutes of the hunt.
